The Cyberspace Child Protection Unit held a meeting at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security as per the joint coordination among the authorities of the unit. Representatives from the Public Prosecution, Governorates’ Security Directorates, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Development took part in the meeting
The work mechanisms of the competent agencies were reviewed with regard to cases and reports related to children, in order to develop a joint work mechanism to deal with reports received from children or their guardians related to cybercrimes such as bullying, threats, electronic blackmail, or electronic sexual exploitation.
The necessity of developing specialised programmes and lectures to increase awareness was also emphasised.
