The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, received a Policewoman, Nawal Ali Ahmed, from the K9 (Police Dog) Unit at the Special Security Force. She handed him a copy of a survey on tracking human traces using police dogs in the desert climate, which was conducted in cooperation with the College of Science at the University of Bahrain.
The Chief hailed the scientific efforts and contributions of the Interior Ministry affiliates in various directorates. He continued that such efforts reflect the wise instructions and support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to promote studies in various security topics to meet developments and changes. He wished the policewoman further success in her career.
The study reviewed the impact of the desert climate on human traces to support the training programmes for police dogs in tracking traces to reach positive results, considering that human traces are one of the essential forensic pieces of evidence used by police personnel through police dogs at the site to identify the people who were previously present at the location, while police dogs track their traces that remain on various types of surfaces. The Commander of the K9 Unit, Major Ahmed Jassim attended the meeting.
