His Excellency President of Customs Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the closing ceremony of the first Customs Security Exercise, which aligns with the third goal of the Customs Affairs Strategic Plan for 2024-2027: “Developing Capacities of Customs Affairs.” All Customs Affairs directorates and ports participated in the exercise.
On this occasion, His Excellency emphasised the importance of continuing training, capacity building, reviewing procedures, and conducting such exercises, which contribute to enhancing cooperation and coordination among Customs directorates. He expressed his best wishes to all for their success in serving the nation, highlighting that securing customs ports is a primary goal of customs work, which falls within the continuous efforts to face challenges and risks, that require raising preparedness levels to enhance the security and economic growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The President of Customs Affairs also thanked all those responsible for the exercise, for their full commitment and teamwork, which contributed to its success and the achievement of its objectives. He wished everyone continued success.
His Excellency was briefed on the objectives, stages, and implementation process of the exercise, which aimed to develop the skills and capabilities of participants, including customs officers and customs officer assistants. This exercise was in line with the need to strengthen security capabilities and effectively respond to potential challenges facing customs work, in addition to ensuring the improvement of staff efficiency and performance to keep up with new developments.
