The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
He said that the alternative sanctions programme is one of His Majesty the King's royal initiatives, and it is supported by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He highlighted the programme’s remarkable and global accomplishments under the guidance of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. One milestone is that the open prisons program obtained international accreditation from the American Correctional Association, the first entity outside the United States of America.
Meanwhile, the delegation hailed the alternative sanctions and open prisons programmes and wished Bahrain ongoing development and prosperity.
