Al Amn FM Radio Show focused on emerging cybercrimes on Thursday. Organised by the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture in cooperation with Radio Bahrain, the show was hosted by Col. Ahmed Al Rumaihi, the Director of Anti-Cybercrimes of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.
Col. Al Rumaihi said that the directorate continues to focus on the awareness aspect for citizens and residents, as well as in institutions and schools, to raise the level of awareness and education when using electronic devices and avoid any negative, social, economic, or psychological consequences.
At the show's end, he called on citizens and residents not to rush and to take their time before opening any link sent to them through their smart devices. They have to verify the sender's authenticity, activate two-factor authentication, avoid sharing personal information, and adhere to the ethics of publishing on social media. Parents should monitor their children while they are using cyberspace, and this can be done by controlling the time spent using the Internet and choosing programmes and applications that are appropriate for the children’s age.
