The Deputy Interior Minister, Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, received heads of delegations for the 49th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics and the 16th session of the ESCWA Statistical Committee, which will be held in Bahrain and organised by the Information and eGovernment Authority from October 21 to 23.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Minister welcomed the heads of the delegations and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
He asserted the significance of research and statistical organisations for offering studies to deal with challenges and rapid changes. He highlighted the importance of such efforts in promoting comprehensive regional economic and social development. He emphasised the organisation’s role in reinforcing the chances of setting up better development policies by supporting and building the capabilities of the organisation and exchanging expertise on best statistical practices.
The Deputy Interior Minister hailed the committee’s role in promoting economic and social development in East Asia through cooperation and integration. He thanked all the participants and organisers and wished them all the best in achieving their goals.
