The Capital Governorate, in collaboration with the Capital Municipality, universities, civil society organisations, and volunteer groups, held a celebration for the International Day of Older Persons at Sitra Mall to promote community partnership.
His Excellency Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman bin Rashid Al Khalifa highlighted the importance of appreciating and supporting the elderly, and emphasising the positive impact of such care. He underscored the need for initiatives that address the comprehensive needs of the elderly across various sectors.
The Capital Governor emphasised the Governorate's commitment to supporting and caring for the elderly, in recognition of their social status and essential role in the nation’s development, as they are a vital part of the social structure.
The event featured substantial participation from the elderly, including medical examinations, lectures on mental health and nutrition, and the distribution of agricultural seedlings.
