The Coast Guard led a collaborative inspection campaign with the Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, and the General Directorate of Media and Public Security to protect marine resources, enforce fishing regulations, and address violations. This initiative covered several marine areas.
During the campaign, various violations were detected, including breaches of fishing laws, registration and licensing issues, restrictions on prohibited areas, and possession of illegal fishing nets. Legal measures were taken. Additionally, the campaign checked the validity of fishing licenses for small vessels and ensured the presence of essential marine safety equipment on board, stressing the importance of using licensed fishing tools.
The Coast Guard emphasised the importance of all fishermen adhering to Bahrain’s fishing laws and regulations, noting that these campaigns will continue regularly to monitor violations and support Bahrain's marine, environmental, and natural resources.
