The radio programme "Aman FM," presented by the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture in collaboration with Bahrain Radio, hosted Major Yusuf Mohamed Seyadi, Head of Search and Investigations at the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate. The directorate's efforts in maintaining security, enhancing community partnerships, and promoting belonging to the nation were highlighted.
Major Seyadi emphasised the vital role the police play in safeguarding the safety and security of both citizens and residents, particularly in handling social issues through the Family and Child Protection Office. This office deals with family-related cases by maintaining confidentiality and privacy to foster communication, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance in cooperation with social centres, which helps reduce family breakdowns.
Given Muharraq's status as a key tourist destination in Bahrain, Major Seyadi explained that the directorate prioritises the deployment of security personnel to assist and serve all groups, including citizens, residents, and tourists, ensuring the provision of essential security services. In addition, several security patrols are assigned to manage traffic flow in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, with a special emphasis on maintaining security near schools and actively participating in various national events and celebrations.
Major Seyadi reiterated that citizens are the first line of defence in ensuring security. To foster community partnership, he mentioned that the directorate regularly visits local councils in Muharraq to directly listen to citizens' feedback and work on addressing their concerns. He also noted that the directorate is available 24/7 for receiving complaints and reports through the Operations Room contact number 17337000 or the emergency line 999.
