Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Al Kubaisi, assert that the National Civil Protection Platform is a pioneering project that reflects the advanced security culture. It is a gathering effort to create a secure environment and improve the quality of life of all.
He highlighted that to mark the first anniversary of the platform launched by His Excellency Interior Minister and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council on 3 November 2023. He said that the platform reinforces general safety awareness, represents a cornerstone for a safe and stable environment, and requires a comprehensive knowledge of procedures during emergencies.
He said the platform is a vital part of the integrated media plan to enhance civil protection awareness as part of the national emergency strategy and based on the plans and procedures of the Civil Defence Council and National Civil Emergency Management Committee. He noted that it is also based on the UN sustainable development goals.
He revealed that the number of volunteers registered on the platform reached 2,067 individuals. He highlighted that the number of volunteers reflects the concept of community partnership as part of the Public Security Voluntary Service Law.
He continued that the platform is considered a national reference to promote safety and prevention culture and empowers citizens and residents to access information to promote safety.
He added that the platform includes educational and awareness information that helps individuals deal effectively during emergencies. He noted that the platform adopts community partnerships to create a safe environment by promoting awareness of all risks and how to prevent them.
