On the second day of the World Health Organization delegation’s visit, the Northern Governorate continued its tour of governorate’s landmarks to align with the Healthy Cities Programme standards for accreditation.
During their visit to the social welfare complex in Hamad Town, accompanied by the Northern Governor Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, the delegation was briefed on community services, child protection programmes, and workshops. At the Northern Governorate Police Directorate, they were informed about security measures, preventive efforts, and the role of the Family and Child Protection Office in addressing family issues.
At an educational facility, the delegation was briefed on an innovative presentation by students. They were later informed about elderly care services at a community centre.
The visit included a local park where a tree was planted to support the 'Tree Week' initiative, along with an inspection of green spaces at a popular walkway and a tour to a youth centre.
