The President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, showcased the efforts of the Customs Affairs in promoting a sustainable green environment during the extraordinary session of Green Customs, which was held during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Azerbaijan.
He highlighted efforts made by Customs Affairs to preserve the environment by using the latest technical devices to monitor radiation and suspected materials and restrict some goods that harm the ozone layer in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He also reviewed the initiatives related to the Customs Affairs Strategic Plan 2024-2027, which contribute to enhancing the concept of green customs through paper recycling, solar energy systems projects, reducing paper use, spreading awareness and building capacities in Customs Affairs.
