In a remarkable security accomplishment, the Interior Ministry won first place in the Arab world for the best operational information field cooperation that led to the arrest of drug trafficking networks.
The winning was among the categories of the annual award of the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council. The award was handed out during a conference held for member countries' heads of anti-drug authorities.
The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science asserted the instructions and support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the operations of the Anti-Drug Committee were behind the winning. He hailed the follow-up of the Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, to develop a training system for the security workforce.
He continued that the accomplishment was part of the directorate’s efforts to fight illicit drugs and their risks to the community.
He pointed out that the information and operational cooperation between the anti-drug agencies in brotherly and friendly countries at all levels has led to solving many drug cases and the strengthening of anti-drug efforts. He said this cooperation would continue according to well-studied plans and approaches to achieve strategic goals.
