Al Amn FM Radio Show focused on the camping season on Thursday. It hosted the Director of Engineering and Investment Services at the Southern Governorate, Mohammed Al Nuaimi and the Security Coordination Officer at the Southern Governorate, Major Mohammed Abdulrahman.
At the beginning of the Show, Al Nuaimi stressed the keenness and support of His Highness Southern Governor, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, to provide and offer the best e-services and digital initiatives for those wishing to camp.
The camping season runs from 20 November 2024 to 20 February 2025, with registration open from 15 to 25 November through the "Khayam" initiative in the "Al Janubiyah” app.
He also explained that the areas permitted for camping had been determined by the needs of all segments of society, which are identified through the digital map using smart devices, such as an area for families, a general area for camps, areas for companies, commercial areas, and recreational areas, in addition to allocating sites for collecting waste in coordination with the Southern Municipality to preserve the cleanliness of the desert and wildlife and adhere to the requirements and laws that guarantee environmental safety and the safety of individuals.
For his part, Major Mohammed pointed out the role of the Southern Governorate in providing security and safety for desert goers, as the desert services centre has been provided with the latest services and devices to meet the needs of campers through the presence of the security point of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, which will work to receive camp-related reports, inquiries and complaints via the contact number 39331515.
