The Financial Intelligence National Centre (FINC) delegation led by the FINC CEO and Chairwoman of the Policy Committee for the Prevention and Prohibition of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, took part in the 39th MENAFATF Plenary held in Riyadh.
On the sideline of the general meeting, the first regional conference on combating money laundering, financing terrorism, and the proliferation of weapons on the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of MENAFATF was held.
The Kingdom of Bahrain explored its main experiences regulating virtual assets during the event. It stressed its commitment to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards in virtual assets to ensure their use within a regulatory framework and legally and safely.
The meeting discussed several topics of common interest, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of the anti-money laundering and counterterrorism financing system in line with the international FATF standards.
