The Deputy Interior Minister Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel chaired the Bahrain delegation at the Second Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States, held in Qatar.
The Deputy Interior Minister said in a speech that through the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain is dedicated to being regional and international members in fighting corruption, through ongoing dedication to achieve cooperation and apply the best methods and standards to implement international and regional relevant agreements.
He highlighted that in this context, the Kingdom of Bahrain would follow constitutional and legal procedures to complete the procedures for ratifying the Mecca Agreement after signing it to support international and regional efforts and close cooperation to combat corruption.
The Deputy Interior Minister affirmed the significance of joint work in law enforcement in fighting corruption to promote integrity.
The meeting discussed projects and decisions, such as the draft resolution of the Mecca Agreement.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Deputy Interior Minister met with the Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), Slagjana Taseva, where he was briefed on the academy's programmes and joint cooperation, including activating the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties to develop advanced training that enhances integrity and combats corruption.
