The Capital Governor, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, received the President of the Weightlifting Federation, Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq. Both sides discussed cooperation to promote Bahraini sports. The Capital Governor praised the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the World Weightlifting Championships "Manama 2024", which will be launched under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, from December 4 to 15. He stressed that Bahrain has become an important destination for attracting continental and international sports championships. The Federation President thanked the Capital Governor and said that the event aims to promote Bahrain as a sports destination.
