The Assistant Chief Constable of Durham Police, Jon Mcadam, and the accompanying delegation visited the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Open Prisons Complex. He also attended the inauguration of the Family and Children Protection Centre at the Hoora Station of the Capital Police Directorate.
The delegation was briefed on efforts to fight crimes involving illicit drugs and human trafficking at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science. The latest in use investigation technologies were highlighted. Both sides reviewed training and exchanged expertise and experiences.
At the centre's inauguration, the delegation was briefed on its main services, which are part of preventative services to protect the safety and security of the family confidentially. The centre reflects Bahrain’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for children.
During the visit to the Open Prisons Complex, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing highlighted its efforts to expand the implementation of the penalties and alternative measures law and the open prisons programme. The delegation was informed of rehabilitation and training programmes for beneficiaries to reintegrate them into society.
At the BIC, the delegation was briefed on security arrangements for main events, especially the Bahrain Grand Prix (Formula One), along with work mechanisms between security authorities to protect the safety and security of visitors and organisers.
