His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received a cable of congratulations from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, on McLaren winning the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship and securing first place at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024, held at Yas Marina Circuit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This marks their first Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship win in 26 years.
The minister commended McLaren’s exceptional performance throughout the season, which showcased their high level of skill and achievement. He emphasised that this success reflects the Kingdom's ongoing pursuit of excellence, driven by the vision of His Majesty, who aspires to keep Bahrain at the forefront of global success in all fields.
The minister also said that McLaren’s victory is a testament to the dedication and competitive spirit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose passion for challenge and ambition has been pivotal in reaching these global milestones.
