Closing Meeting at the Public Prosecution for Himaya (protection) Campaign

MOI

A closing meeting was held at the Public Prosecution for the organising and participating entities in The national campaign to protect children from online exploitation and blackmail Himaya (protection). This campaign was adopted by the Public Prosecution and launched by the Attorney General, Dr Ali bin Fadhel Al-Buainain, last July in partnership with several ministries and concerned entities. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the dangers children might face in cyberspace, enhance monitoring by parents and guardians, and familiarise them with ways to handle cases that could involve children being victims of cyber exploitation and extortion. It also addresses the rules for allowing children to engage in cyberspace and use internet-connected media, in addition to utilising electronic protection applications.

The meeting was chaired by First Attorney General Advisor Naif Yousef Mahmoud, Head of the General Prosecution. Representatives from the ministries and entities participating in the campaign attended the meeting, during which the accomplishments of the campaign were reviewed.
