In a milestone that reflects the growing status of Bahrain in hosting international sports events, the 3rd edition of Interior Minister ATP Tennis Challenger won the Best Asia-Pacific Championship Award of the Association of Tennis Professionals. The Kingdom hosted the competition in February 2024 with the participation of a host of world-class players, and won by Kazakhstani player Mikhail Kukushkin.
On the occasion, the MOI Tennis Challenger General Supervisor, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports on this global milestone. He hailed his ongoing support for enhancing sports in Bahrain and his contributions to this accomplishment, showcasing the competition's international level.
He also thanked His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority President, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President. He praised his efforts in serving Bahraini sports and his keenness to raise them to the international level.
He also hailed His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa's follow-up of the tournament and his dedication to offering all facilities for its success by getting establishments and players ready. He highlighted his role in supporting sports activities, reflecting the Interior Ministry's dedication to enhancing Bahrain's status as an international sports destination.
He thanked the Public Security Sports Association and the Public Security Officers Club for their major role in presenting the competition professionally. He hailed the teamwork and integrated efforts of all entities to achieve this milestone, which adds to Bahrain's sports achievements.
