The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, chaired an extended meeting on developing the work of police directorates and centres and their performance indicators. Assistant Undersecretaries, Directors-General and Directors of the Interior Ministry attended.
At the beginning, the Chief welcomed the attendees. It conveyed the greetings and instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to develop security work to provide the best police services for citizens and residents and reinforce security, stability and protection of general order in the Kingdom.
The Chief highlighted that the police directorates through the police stations are a core of the security system and reinforce community security through active interaction with citizens and residents and achieve swift response to cases.
He noted that the fast development based on digitalisation, technology and artificial intelligence in all walks of life requires moving to the upcoming phase of developing security work and police services through transforming police stations into service centres based on specific accredited standards and the adoption of smart police methods and applications that are related to computer-based procedures and the collection, processing and analysis of data to improve security work and police services and achieve public security strategies, objectives and principles.
The Chief called to reinforce potential and modern technologies at police stations and security complexes to facilitate work and respond to cases according to standards and conditions that meet the duties. He hailed the significance of continuing work to complete the entire digital transformation project for police station services and the launch of training programmes for staff to keep pace with security incidents and cases.
During the meeting, the Chief was briefed on the latest developments in implementing the unification of the security centres’ procedures and cases to ensure accuracy of performance and the protection of all human rights. The activation of the role of continuous monitoring and auditing of the workflow was reviewed, along with quickly taking the necessary measures in the correct manner in accordance with the law and determining a unified reference for the procedures and systems used in the security centres to facilitate communication and the exchange of information between them.
Finally, the Chief hailed the efforts and performance of the affiliates of the police directorates and centres for accurate and fast performance.
