The Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, received a delegation of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), in the presence of the IOM mission chief, Ihma Shareef, to review cooperation between the two sides. At the beginning, the NPRA Undersecretary congratulated Ihma Shareef on her appointment and wished her the best in her new assignments. He hailed the IOM's role in supporting international migration and border management efforts. He expressed aspirations for more cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting reviewed the main challenges and modern developments in passports, legal identity and integrated border management. Both sides also reviewed exchanging expertise and joint coordination to develop systems and procedures in line with international standards. They emphasised the importance of cooperation in various United Nations programmes concerned with migration and strengthening the partnership between them, which contributes to enhancing security and facilitating procedures related to the movement of individuals.
