The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, chaired the 3rd meeting of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee. Officials and representatives of various entities attended to discuss the panel work programme 2025.
During the meeting, the Chief asserted that enhancing national preparedness to face potential risks is the core to ensuring community security and safety, especially developing emergency response strategies per the best international standards and focusing on precaution, early warning, and general safety awareness for active emergency responses.
He highlighted the significance of promoting the emergency system in Bahrain to meet the Civil Defence Council recommendations to ensure the highest preparedness levels to protect citizens and residents, security, and general safety.
During the meeting, the committee’s executive office reviewed the updated national risks record, considered a main tool to document and evaluate potential risks in Bahrain for proactive steps to reduce their impacts and reinforce emergency preparedness. The meeting discussed early warning mechanisms for potential crises to ensure an effective and timely response. It also discussed the National Training Programme for Resilience Leaders and the National Exercises Programme. It also reviewed the general plan for dealing with industrial accidents to enhance safety procedures and effective response to dangerous accidents, including developing annexes for emergency sites and establishing the National Emergency Management Centre to coordinate immediate response to crises and emergencies.
