His Highness Southern Governor and Chairman of the Security Committee, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, presided over the second Security Committee meeting of 2025. The meeting was attended by Deputy Southern Governor Colonel Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khayyat, alongside senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and the officials from the governorate.
During the meeting, HH the Southern Governor welcomed the attendees, emphasising the committee’s role in executing the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He highlighted the focus on addressing residents' needs to bolster security and stability across the governorate. He commended the security services for their exemplary efforts in fortifying safety measures and praised the robust cooperation between the governorate and the security authorities, underscoring their commitment to meeting the community’s security requirements.
HH the Southern Governor was briefed on the Southern Governorate Police Directorate and General Directorate of Traffic’s security preparations for Ramadan. He emphasised the importance of coordination to enhance the roles of the Community Police and traffic patrols, ensuring robust security measures on the main roads, mosques, and public spaces. He also urged continued efforts to strengthen field campaigns in markets and facilities, further elevating security and safety across the southern regions.
He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the security directorates to ensure campers’ safety and desert cleanliness post-season. He praised the Ministry of Interior’s efforts, including patrols and over 80 awareness campaigns, which contributed to low incident rates and enhanced security standards.
