The quarter-final and semi-final matches for the singles and doubles categories of the Ministry of Interior Bahrain Tennis Challenger were held on a day full of excitement and intense competition between the players.
The matches qualified the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics and the Italian Andrea Vavassori for the final match in the singles category. In the doubles final, the Russian Ivan Liutarevich and the French Lucas Sanchez will face the Ukrainian Vitali Sashko and the Kazakh Beibit Zhukayev.
The final matches will be held tomorrow evening, Saturday, to determine the champions of the current tournament, which saw the participation of an elite group of professional tennis players.
In the singles semi-finals, Hungary's Marton Fucsovics outperformed Russia's Marat Sharipov with a strong performance, winning the match in his favour (6-2, 6-1). As for Italy's Andrea Vavassori played an even match against the American Brandon Holt before snatching the victory with a score of (6-4, 4-6, 6-4).
In the quarter-finals, the tournament witnessed exciting matches, as Russian Marat Sharipov defeated Croatian Duje Ajdukovic in a long match with a score of (4-6, 7-6, 7-6), while American Brandon Holt achieved a difficult victory over French Terrence Atmane with a score of (3-6, 6-4, 6-1).
Hungarian Marton Fucsovics also defeated his Norwegian competitor Viktor Durasovic with a score of (6-4, 7-5), while Italian Andrea Vavassori easily defeated Canadian Alexis Galarneau with a score of (6-2, 6-1).
On the sidelines of the tournament, the fan zone witnessed many fun events, coinciding with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of the National Action Charter anniversary. The police band and the cavalry team participated, in addition to a special corner for “Watani” magazine and several entertainment activities that the attendees enjoyed amidst a distinctive festive atmosphere.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the decisive finale amidst fans' anticipation of the identity of the new champion in a confrontation between Fucsovics and Vavassori.
