The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has chaired the meeting of the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) Scientific Council. The Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and RAP Commander, Major-General Fawaz Al Hassan, attended.
The Chief welcomed the attendees, highlighting the significant role of RAP in training the security workforce through the support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa for the council and his wise directives to develop curricula and training programmes.
The Chief directed the introduction of a Master's programme in digital forensics and information analysis to enhance the capabilities of security personnel and contribute to police performance through best practices. Meanwhile, ways to implement training courses and programmes and work on developing them through an electronic programme were discussed.
The meeting highlighted the main accomplishments and projects the academy wants to achieve this year to meet the instructions and inspirations of HE the Interior Minister and his dedication to equip RAP with the latest equipment, systems and programmes to place it among prestigious police institutions. The development projects include the formation of a Centre for Electronic Creativity and Artificial Intelligence and the Language Center to develop foreign language skills, in addition to establishing the training village to provide an integrated training environment and coordinate with various universities to offer specialised postgraduate programmes, including doctoral programmes in police and security, crisis management and disaster risks.
The meeting concluded with a brief overview of RAP's achievements, in which the Chief thanked the council members and the RAP administrative and faculty team and wished them all the best.
