The Capital Governor, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, attended an initiative organised by the General Directorate of Community Police in collaboration with the Capital Governorate and University College of Bahrain, aimed at revitalising Shaikh Isa Square Park.
The Governor emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts among various government and private entities, as well as civil society organisations, in preserving the environment. He highlighted the need to enhance community awareness and promote sustainable practices, such as tree-planting campaigns and beach and public park cleanups, which reflect the civilised image of the Kingdom and improve the quality of life for all citizens, residents, and visitors.
The initiative to restore the Park aims to support the national initiative for agricultural sector development, "You Remain Green," which underscores the Kingdom's commitment to increasing green spaces and preserving the environment.
It also intends to enhance national identity and showcase the heritage and historical landmarks in Manama by developing the park and improving its facilities to make it an attractive destination for the local community.
