The Deputy Interior Minister, Lt-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, chaired the Interior Ministry delegation at the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety. The Bahrain Ambassador to Bahrain, Khalid bin Salman Al-Musallam and Director-General of Traffic, Major-General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Adulwahab Al Khalifa, attended the conference that takes place in Marrakech, Morocco, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with the participation of more than 100 ministers and 2,700 traffic safety experts and specialists.
The conference, organised by the World Health Organisation in cooperation with the Moroccan Ministry of Transport and Logistics, aims to reduce fatal traffic accidents by 50% by 2030 by enhancing international cooperation and adopting effective road safety policies.
During the conference, the achievements made in implementing the Global Road Safety Plan 2021-2030 were discussed, which aims to create a vision that supports safe and sustainable mobility to exchange experiences between countries and develop mechanisms capable of laying the foundations for spreading awareness and reducing traffic accidents.
