To mark International Customs Day, Customs Affairs organised a presentation on the Sustainable Development Goals Action Guide in the presence of various officials.
At the beginning of the session, the President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, welcomed the attendees. He praised the working team's efforts in preparing the Sustainable Development Goals Action Guide. He confirmed that Customs Affairs issued the Sustainable Development Goals Action Guide for the actual achievements and future initiatives for 2017-2027, which the Sustainable Goals Team employees prepared.
The guide includes the steps for studying the objectives and work mechanism for the sustainable development goals in line with customs legislation, in addition to reviewing the achievements made, which reached 100% for the completed objectives and 80% for the objectives still under implementation. There are future customs initiatives for the next four years, ensuring continued contribution to achieving sustainable development.
The President of Customs also explained that the team studied the sustainable development goals by analysing their objectives, aiming to identify areas directly or indirectly related to implementing them.
In conclusion, he stressed that Customs Affairs is an integral part of the Ministry of Interior and that Customs Affairs is ready to transfer its experience to all directorates in the Ministry of Interior to achieve benefits.
