Southern Governorate participates in the Sports Day

Under the patronage of His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in collaboration with the Interior Ministry’s Public Security Sports Association, hosted a Bahrain Sports Day event. The event was attended by Deputy Southern Governor Colonel Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khayyat and the chairperson of GULF University, alongside representatives from civil society institutions and local associations, along with the active participation of the governorate’s residents.  
HH the Southern Governor emphasised the governorate’s commitment to organising meaningful sports and community initiatives, highlighting the vital role of sports in enhancing public health and societal well-being. He commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in fostering a culture of sports and promoting active participation across Bahraini society.
The Sports Day commenced with a group walk in the park, followed by HH the Southern Governor awarding the top achievers in various sporting categories. Winners were recognised across disciplines such as football, basketball, table tennis, and darts, with their participation and celebrated for their outstanding performances.
Following the event, HH the Southern Governor acknowledged the contributions of the participating organisations, referees, sponsors, and the residents. He praised their collaborative efforts in ensuring the success of the occastion, emphasising the importance of such community partnerships in driving impactful initiatives.
