The Interior Ministry registered a qualitative leap in digital transformation strategy and e-services as part of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It utilises technology to serve the community, ensure digital sustainability, and protect cybersecurity. The milestones are also part of the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to digital transformation initiatives.
In this context, the Interior Ministry offers services via the MyGov app, which was launched by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology, as part of three strategic projects of the Information and eGovernment Authority. Bahrain’s digital transformation efforts placed it among the world's leading countries in the United Nations E-Government Development Index.
In the first phase of the app, the Interior Ministry offers public security services, including filing cases with police stations, the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, the Directorate of Search and Follow-Up of the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit.
These cases can be submitted and inquired about via the app in easy and convenient steps. The public can request the issuance of a certificate of good conduct and verify its validity electronically through the Criminal Information Directorate of the General Investigation and of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science.
The app also offers several NPRA services, including issuing and renewing passports and residency permits, inquiring about passport issuing or renewing, and issuing temporary passes. The General Directorate of Traffic services includes renewing driving licenses, paying traffic fines and renewing vehicle registration.
The MyGov app represents the first integrated innovative national platform. In its first phase, it offers more than 41 government services through a single window.
Those wishing to benefit from these services can download the MyGov app, available through the e-Government Applications Store (Bahrain.bh/apps), to access its advanced digital services. This innovative digital project provides a secure, unified access experience for a range of government services by linking it to the advanced electronic key (eKey 2.0), which enables biometric authentication (face print), enhancing security and improving the user experience.
