Chief of Public Security visits the National Ambulance Centre

The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, visited the National Ambulance Centre to follow up on its operations and preparedness of services. The Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources, Major-General Adel Ameen, attended. 

The Chief hailed the support of His Excellency, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for the National Ambulance project and his dedication to developing services provided to citizens and residents, ensuring a swift response to medical emergencies. 

He pointed out that the National Ambulance is a pioneering project that was implemented by global standards, benefiting from international emergency medicine expertise and experiences, and aims to meet global advancements in ambulance and safety. 

The Chief highlighted that the launch of the First Responder for Ambulance Motorcycle aims to provide a swift response to emergencies, especially in areas with traffic congestion and narrow streets across all governorates. He added that the Interior Ministry is committed to adopting initiatives and ideas that contribute to the development of work and the quality of the services provided. 

He hailed the cooperation and coordination between the National Ambulance, government hospitals, Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, King Hamad University Hospital, and Mohammed Bin Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, as well as their role in receiving various cases to ensure speedy transfer and provide high-quality ambulance services. He thanked all the National Ambulance affiliates for their sincere national efforts in enhancing ambulance services in Bahrain.  

During the visit, the Chief was briefed on the centre’s statistics, which highlighted efforts to cover various events, as well as the ProQA system for emergency cases, which classifies cases according to medical priority. The role of the First Responder for Ambulance Motorcycle is a turning point for swift response and the quality of provided services. The satisfaction measurement statistics, which demonstrate the extent of service recipient satisfaction, were reviewed. 

The Chief of Public Security also visited the operations room at the National Ambulance Center, where he was briefed on performance indicators and the mechanism for receiving and referring cases to the nearest ambulance centre.
