MOI tennis team takes part in international tournaments

The Chairman of Tennis Committee and General Supervisor Ministry of Interior Tennis Tournament, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, asserted that per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Ministry General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to participate in international tournaments and to enhance the skills of youth, the team’s committee has a well-studied development plan to support the team. 

He pointed out that, as part of this plan, the team recently participated in the Rackets Academy, which was held under the auspices of the Asian Federation for the under-16 category. The team achieved impressive results, with Ahmed Mohamed Al Sayed taking third place in the singles competition and second place in the doubles. At the same time, Talal Mohamed Al Sayed won first place in the doubles category.

He added that the Ministry of Interior's tennis team, as part of its participation in tournaments organised by the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF), is preparing to participate with the Bahraini national tennis team in the GCC Under-16 Tennis Championship, which will be held in Kuwait from 11 to 16 April 2025.

These participations and achievements are part of the committee's commitment to providing a professional environment for the players and honourable representation of the Ministry of Interior in regional and international forums, while continuing to develop the team and enhance its readiness for upcoming competitions.
