The General Directorate of Civil Defence has continued to hold the second phase of the orientation programme for volunteers at the Civil Defence School. It is part of the directorate's innovative initiatives to enable volunteers to assist with emergencies and crises.
The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Al Kubaisi, stated that the programme reflects the dedication of the Interior Ministry, led by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to promoting community partnership as a fundamental foundation of security and general safety. He noted that integrating volunteers into the civil defence system represents a turning point in enhancing competency and national emergency response.
The 16-week orientation programme covers 39 volunteers who are involved in a series of theoretical and practical courses, including first aid, firefighting and evacuation. The training is being carried out under the supervision of specialised trainers from the Civil Defence School.
