Bahrain International Airport's Passport Services secured third place globally in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2025 under the category of Best Airport Immigration Services—for the second consecutive year.
This achievement is attributed to the implementation of strict standards, including the efficiency and speed of procedures, ease of movement within the airport, and the professionalism of immigration officers in welcoming visitors, in addition to the high level of traveller satisfaction with the services provided.
On this occasion, His Excellency Ministry of Interior Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence (NPRA) Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, affirmed that this international recognition reflects the continuous support and close follow-up from His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who is keen to provide the highest quality of services at the Kingdom’s entry and exit points. He praised the efforts of the passport staff at Bahrain International Airport for their role in achieving this distinction.
His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa also noted that this recognition serves as a global testament to the quality of services offered by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and its ongoing commitment to enhancing the travel experience through Bahrain International Airport. This, in turn, strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional hub in the air transport sector.
Bahrain ranked just behind Hong Kong International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport, reflecting the Kingdom’s high level of competitiveness among the world’s top airports.
He further emphasised that efforts will continue to deliver advanced services that facilitate travel procedures and enhance operational efficiency at border crossings. He also highlighted the constructive collaboration with Bahrain Airport Company, which played a significant role in the development and integration of services provided to travellers.
It is worth noting that the Skytrax World Airport Awards are presented by a leading UK-based consultancy established in 1989. These prestigious awards are among the most recognised in the aviation industry, and their results are based on direct feedback from travellers as well as on-site evaluations conducted by the company.
