Director-General of Verdict Enforcement receives Director-General of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Academy

The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa received the Director-General of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Academy, Dr Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa and the accompanying delegation of the International Diplomats Programme “Diyafa”.

He welcomed the official and highlighted that the visit was part of the community support for the alternative sentencing programme based on the values and principles of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's reform era. He valued the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the reform project and initiatives. He also hailed the modern policies of the Interior Ministry led by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 

The Director-General said such visits contribute to the community aspects of the alternative sentencing and partnership with official and civic authorities to support the rehabilitation and integration of the beneficiaries into society. He pointed out that the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing continues its reformation and training programmes as part of the noble directives and relevant advanced national legislation. 

The delegation was briefed on the open prisons’ work mechanisms and rehabilitation programmes provided to inmates to reintegrate them into the community. 

Meanwhile, Dr Shaikha Muneera asserted that the Diyafa programme aims to reinforce international cooperation and partnership between foreign ministries and diplomatic academies, providing opportunities for participants to interact with national and international organisations and exchange expertise about the best diplomatic and humanitarian work.

The delegation hailed the advanced prison management model and asserted that such visits open new international cooperation horizons, including rehabilitation and reformation programmes.
