The Ma’an Regional Centre for Research and Training organised the a security awareness exhibition at Bahrain Polytechnic, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote security awareness and strengthen community partnership in crime prevention.
The exhibition saw broad participation from students, as well as academic and administrative staff. It featured several informative sections, including a dedicated area on types of narcotics and their harmful effects on individuals and society. A highlight of the event was the virtual reality corner, which offered an interactive experience simulating scenarios related to risky behaviours.
Also on display was the "Ma’an" car, specifically designed to simulate driving under hazardous conditions. This interactive experience aimed to raise youth awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or when fatigued. The simulation demonstrated the delayed transmission of nerve signals from the brain to the body, resulting in slower reaction times and posing serious risks to both the driver and others.
This exhibition aligns with the Ma’an Centre’s strategic goals to enhance security awareness among youth, and underscores the importance of collaborative awareness efforts between educational institutions and security agencies in building a safe and resilient society.
The centre continues its outreach and awareness initiatives by organising similar events that convey preventive messages through modern, interactive methods—helping to instill values of citizenship, discipline, and legal awareness among young people.
