The Northern Governor, Ali Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, received the Acting Representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Bahrain, Asad Hafeez.
He welcomed the guest and praised the cooperation with the WHO in the Healthy Cities Programme. He emphasised the success of the experience of accrediting Aali as a Healthy City and the efforts towards accrediting the Northern Governorate as a Healthy Governorate by implementing the slogan "Health for All, By All."
The Governor reviewed the most important health initiatives undertaken by the Governorate, including organising nine editions of the "Biggest Winner" competition to combat obesity and smoking, the mosquito control campaign across the Governorate, and the celebration of international health events and the adoption of community initiatives through them, to promote preventative health concepts and raise health awareness among the community.
For his part, Dr. Asad Hafeez expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Northern Governor and praised the Governorate's efforts in supporting health initiatives.
