MOI

In a milestone reflecting the success of Bahrain’s digital transformation efforts, the Criminal Information Directorate of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science has announced that it has issued more than 100,000 Good Conduct Certificates electronically since the service was launched on 19 August 2020. The initiative was implemented in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority and stands as a strong indicator of user confidence and the efficiency of the electronic system.

The Director of the Criminal Information, Col. Nayef Al Majed, explained that this achievement is part of the Directorate’s strategy to provide high-quality and efficient services to clients inside and outside Bahrain by shifting from paper-based procedures to fully integrated electronic services. He noted that the project embodies the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and comes in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which aim to modernise government operations, advance digital transformation, support environmental sustainability, and deliver smart services that enhance customer satisfaction.

He further emphasised that this digital transformation is a direct result of the guidance of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology. He pointed out HE the Interior Minister’s affirmation of the importance of utilising technology to enhance security and service performance in support of Bahrain’s national digital transformation goals. This approach has been met with strong user engagement, driven by the convenience, speed, and accuracy the service offers.

This achievement also aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s future strategies, implemented according to a structured timeline, aiming to use modern technology to deliver services that improve the quality of life for citizens and residents.

The Director noted that the Criminal Information Directorate's services are accessible through several channels, including in-person at the Customer Service Centre in the Southern Governorate (located at the General Directorate of Traffic), by prior appointment via the “Mawaeid” app. They are also offered through direct online application via the government portal bahrain.bh, or video call service with pre-booking through the same app

Clients can contact the Virtual Customer Service Centre at 17872373 for inquiries or to check application status. Suggestions and complaints can be submitted through the National Suggestions and Complaints System “Tawasul.”
