The Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, in cooperation with the Young Trader Foundation, has concluded the "Stars of Safety" training programme. The initiative targeted children aged 12 to 16 and aimed to equip them to deliver peer-to-peer awareness lectures on the risks of cyberspace.
The Director-General of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic, Colonel Ahmed Saad Al-Rumaihi, emphasised that empowering the younger generation to speak about cyber risks is vital to building a safer society.
He noted that through the unit, the Directorate aims to continue organising such initiatives to reach more children, spread awareness, and enhance their digital safety. This effort aligns with the National Strategy for Child Protection in Cyberspace (2023–2026), which seeks to ensure a safe digital environment for children.
The Director-General highlighted the importance of the training programme, which was delivered through interactive workshops covering key topics such as identifying digital threats, understanding the importance of digital privacy, using social media platforms safely, and the proper steps for reporting any online risks. The participants were provided advanced educational resources and tools to develop their communication and presentation skills.
After the programme, participating children were awarded certified trainer badges, qualifying them to deliver awareness lectures to their school peers and at various student events.
