As part of efforts to foster a culture of innovation and leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technologies to enhance government performance, the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), organised a specialised workshop titled “Stimulating Innovation Through Artificial Intelligence” at the Public Security Officers Club.
Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organisation, Shaikha Mashael bint Khalifa Al Khalifa affirmed that this initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing commitment to building digital competencies and fostering innovation and creativity across its operations.
She noted that the workshop reflects the Interior Ministry’s dedication to realising the Bahrain government's aspirations and implementing the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.
The workshop featured a presentation by the iGA’s Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate highlighting core innovation and artificial intelligence concepts. It stressed the importance of fostering creative thinking and applying modern technological tools to enhance performance quality and develop government services using theoretical and practical exercises.
Participants also received training on generating innovative ideas through AI techniques.
The workshop is part of a series of initiatives launched by the Ministry of Interior and iGA to empower government employees in adopting AI and enhancing digital transformation readiness. It offered a rich educational experience, strengthened creative thinking and data-driven decision-making skills, and encouraged engagement in interactive activities reflecting real institutional challenges, thereby supporting the development of innovative government initiatives in line with regional and global technological advancements.
