MOI powerlifting athlete claims top titles at World Powerlifting Championship in Thailand

Interior Ministry Player Major Abdullah Abdulwahab Salmeen, a Public Security Sports Association member, secured top honours at the World Powerlifting Championship held in Thailand.
He won first place in the bench press event and topped the squat category. Additionally, he was awarded the champion’s belt for securing first place in the deadlift competition, earning the title of Overall Champion.
On this occasion, President of the Public Security Sports Association, Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, expressed his appreciation for the continued support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for the ministry's athletes, highlighting it as a key driver behind such sporting achievements. He also commended the close follow-up by the Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, with the Ministry’s sports teams during local and international competitions.
He praised Major Salmeen’s accomplishment, describing it as a testament to the skill and readiness of the Ministry’s athletes and their dedication to excellence. This further reflects the high calibre of Bahraini sports at both national and international levels.
