The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the Interior Ministry Open Cricket Championship, organised by the Public Security Sports Association at the cricket ground in Awali.
The tournament featured 18 teams from various Interior Ministry directorates, along with teams from the Bahrain Defence Force and the National Guard. The National Guard team clinched the championship title after defeating the Interior Ministry team in the final match.
On this occasion, the Chief of Public Security praised His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa's unwavering support for sports activities and his instructions to provide the necessary resources for organising purposeful sporting events that promote teamwork and discipline among ministry personnel.
He also commended the high level of performance and excellent organisation throughout the tournament, applauding all participating teams' competitive spirit and sportsmanship.
He expressed his gratitude to the Public Security Sports Association and all those who contributed to the event's success and congratulated the National Guard team on their well-earned victory.
For his part, the President of the Public Security Sports Association, Colonel Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, expressed appreciation to the Chief for his presence and continuous support of sporting activities. He noted that such events are part of the association’s plan to enhance public security personnel's physical fitness and athletic capabilities.
At the conclusion, the Chief of Public Security awarded the championship trophy and gold medals to the winning team, and presented silver medals to the runners-up, wishing continued success to all participants.
