The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), in cooperation with the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) and the Bahrain Deaf Society, has organised a specialised training course in sign language for passport staff from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The course included participants from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in service-oriented and humanitarian fields.
The course aimed to enhance practical communication skills with individuals with hearing disabilities, thereby improving services provided to this group and promoting inclusivity in the workplace. It featured lectures and specialised workshops delivered by experts in sign language and deaf communication, giving participants practical skills and a deeper understanding of the needs of the hearing-impaired community.
