Anti-Human Trafficking: 29 frontline law enforcers participate in a specialised training course

MOI

As part of efforts to strengthen national capacities in combatting human trafficking, the Anti-Human Trafficking and Public Morality Directorate of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science has organised the third specialised training course, in cooperation with the Public Prosecution and the Protection and Grievances Centre of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).

The course targeted frontline law enforcers and included 29 participants, comprising officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilians from various Ministry of Interior directorates. Key topics covered included Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to promote human rights, the definition and elements of human trafficking, the concept and identification of trafficking victims, the procedures for their protection, and the legal guarantees provided to victims under Bahraini legislation. The programme also highlighted the role of the Public Prosecution and the LMRA in combating human trafficking.

The Criminal Media Division at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science affirmed the Ministry’s continued commitment to community partnership by delivering lectures and organising awareness exhibitions on combating human trafficking. It urged public members to report any information related to suspected trafficking activities via the dedicated hotline (555), the main operations room (999), or by email at 555@interior.gov.bh. Complete confidentiality of all reports is guaranteed.
