The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the closing ceremony of the Interior Ministry Padel Tournament, organised by the Public Security Sports Association.
The event was held at the Padel Arena courts in Sanad from May 23 to 27, with over 100 male and female players from various Interior Ministry directorates.
The Chief commended the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, which support sports activities as a means to promote cooperation and discipline among Interior Ministry personnel. He also highlighted the role of sports in improving physical fitness and enhancing the security work environment.
He valued the efforts of the Public Security Sports Association for successfully organising the tournament, applauding the high technical level of the matches and the sportsmanship displayed by the participants. He extended his thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the competition through excellent planning and organisation.
The President of the Public Security Sports Association, Col. Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, expressed his appreciation to the Chief for his presence and ongoing support. He noted that the tournament aligns with the association’s broader strategy to enhance the physical capabilities of public security personnel and promote the concept of sport as a way of life.
At the end of the event, the Chief honoured the winners and presented medals. In the men’s officers’ category, first place went to Major Abdulrahman Nabeel Shuwaiter and Captain Moath Abdulrahman Al-Muaileh, while second place was awarded to Major Abdulrahman Mahmood Shihab and Captain Khalil Salman Al-Jazzaf.
In the women’s officers’ category, first place was claimed by Major Reem Yousif Al Hashimi and Captain Mai Yaqoub Al Khal, while Major Maryam Najeeb Al Ansari and Major Fatima Ali Al Zoubi took second place.
In the individuals and civilians category, Salahuddin Al Qattan and Mohamed Essam Abdel Aal secured first place, with Khalid Mohamed Al Mousawi and Alvaro Alfonso finishing as runners-up.
The Chief extended his congratulations to all the winners, wishing them continued success.
