As part of the National Committee for Civil Emergency Management’s efforts to enhance national preparedness, the Committee’s Executive Office, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), and the UN Migration Agency, organised a national workshop titled “Resilience Building.” The workshop brought together more than 80 participants from various government entities and relevant national institutions.
The event marks a significant milestone in the development of Bahrain’s emergency response and rapid intervention system. It is regarded as a cornerstone in building a society capable of adapting to future challenges.
The “Resilience Building” workshop reflects Bahrain’s commitment to a proactive approach that strengthens institutional capacity in preparedness and response, in line with the National Emergency Management Strategy and the Ministry of Interior’s vision to foster a secure and stable national environment through effective and integrated international partnerships.
The workshop’s training programme covered several vital topics, including operational preparedness foundations, emergency planning and operations, community readiness, and Bahrain’s National Risk Register. It also included comprehensive discussions on evacuation planning concepts, stages, and core principles in emergency situations, contributing to the development of cohesive national capabilities based on international best practices in disaster risk management and mitigation.
