The General Directorate of Traffic has confirmed that the fatal road accident which occurred early this morning in the Saar area was caused by high speed and reckless driving.
The driver of a Dodge vehicle, coming from Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, lost control and suddenly veered into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a Toyota.
The crash resulted in the death of the 40-year-old Bahraini driver of the Toyota and his 36-year-old wife, who were transported to the hospital by the National Ambulance but later succumbed to their injuries. Their three children, aged 12, 9, and 7, sustained serious injuries.
Traffic patrols and the relevant authorities immediately responded to the scene. The Public Prosecution was notified, and legal procedures were undertaken. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
