The General Directorate of Civil Defence has intensified its field inspection campaigns, targeting the storage sites of chemical substances within industrial facilities, as part of its comprehensive oversight plan aimed at enhancing occupational safety measures and preventing potential hazards.
The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, stated that the campaigns are being conducted to ensure facilities comply with approved standards for storing hazardous materials, including the presence of proper safety systems such as ventilation, alarm systems, and emergency plans in line with relevant national and international regulations.
He added that inspection teams are working on the ground to verify all required safety measures are in place, while also raising awareness among workers about the importance of adhering to safety protocols, applying proper technical procedures, and handling hazardous chemicals correctly to enhance individual, facility, and environmental safety.
The campaign is part of ongoing efforts to promote a culture of prevention and safety in the workplace, as well as to reduce incidents related to the storage and use of chemicals. It falls within an integrated inspection plan designed to achieve the highest safety standards across all industrial sectors.
